GET THE LOOK: ADETORO

Hey people, trust y'all are doing great :)

Sometime last week, I had the opportunity to make Adetoro's face to complement an outfit she designed and modelled. By the way, Toro is the Creative Designer behind Detoro Styles, a fast rising fashion company based in Lagos, Nigeria. She is currently interviewing candidates to take up internship positions so if you are interested, simply click here to apply.

Seeing how colourful the dress was, we decided to settle for a simple, easy and fresh look to complement the entire ensemble and of course, something simple enough for her to re-create later on.

Here's the look in question.

Here's a breakdown of the products I used.

FACE:

1. No 7 Primer
2. Maybelline Dream Mousse Foundation (Cocoa)
3. MAC Mineralise Skin Finish (Deep Dark)
4. Ben Nye Luxury Powder (Camel)
5. Sleek Face Contour Kit (Dark)
6. MAC Fix +

EYES:

7.   NYX Eyeshadow Base (White)
8.   Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil (Dark Brown)
9.   Bobbi Brown Gel Liner
10. MAC eyeshadows  (Goldmine) and (Woodwinked)
11. Look Beauty eyeshadow (Satchel)
12. MAC Gel liner (blacktrack)

LIPS:

13. MAC Magenta Lip pencil
14. MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick
15. A Clear Gloss

CHEEKS:

16. Sleek blush by 3 Palette in Pink Sprint
17. Sleek blush (Sunrise)

GREAT NEWSSSSSSS!!!

Hello beautiful people. Trust you are all keeping really well.
I am sincerely sorry for staying away for some time. It was actually for a good cause and I'm really excited to be back.

It has been a year since I officially decided to kick start a career in Makeup and Beauty, especially since I relocated to Nigeria. I remember how I struggled so hard this time last year coming up with a befitting name for my beauty brand. As much as possible, I wanted to avoid words and phrases like: Pretty, Makeovers, House of..., Face, etc. Not like these words are bad, but hey; everyone uses those. Maybe I was just too picky, or maybe I wasn't even serious at all, in the end, I had to stick with my name: Eniola Osinubi, and then I just added "Makeup and Beauty" so I wouldn't leave people wandering if I sold food, made clothes, or was an MC. LOL.

Today, I am grateful to God because I am not where I used to be. I have finally come up with a name and of course, more than glad to let you know. So, ladies, girls, women, men, boys and gentlemen, I officially introduce my brand name.

YES!!!! Eniola Osinubi: Makeup and Beauty Cum Hues 'n' Curls.

Pleaaaseeee ohhh! Do not help me attach Makeovers to this precious name. lol.
Many thanks to God for sparing my life and giving me wisdom, my darling sisters for helping me with brainstorming,to my darling friend 'Deji for helping me with the registration process while I was away on holiday, I did just a little work and he saw it through to the end. I will also never forget my lovely brother, friend and excellent photographer 'Bayo Rotilu of Twelve05 photography who encouraged me to create my first ever portfolio. We paraded the city of Liverpool in pursuit of greatness and I bless God for His blessings so far. Also a big thank you to my darling big brother Ayobami Adeniyi for pushing me to open up a facebook page to showcase my works. God bless you always sir. And of course, a big shout out to Olatunde Sofowora of Showfz Studios (07035213734) who expertly designed the lovely logo and business cards. And finally, a big thank you to you reading this post. You are the reason I love to blog. Thank you for your patronage and support.

I look forward to bigger, better and greater things.

God bless us all.

Eniola @ Hues 'n' Curls :)

BRIDAL FEATURE: MAYOKUN

Hello beautiful people,
Thank you for constantly staying glued to my page. Its highly appreciated. God bless you. Before I proceed, can I quickly say this prayer?

"O God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, please allow my future brides be as charming, sweet, polite and beautiful as Mayokun, Amen".

Last weekend, I had the opportunity of doing Mayokun's Engagement and White Wedding makeup. Even though we never had a formal trial session, I knew it wasn't an excuse not to make her look extremely beautiful. These days, I think my brides believe me so much. I just send my portfolio and they aren't so pumped about trial sessions. Can only be God *smiles*.

Have I officially told you I have started "bridal hair styling"? Oops, My bad. I'll make a post featuring my various hair styles soon.

BTW, I think I have become a better amateur photographer. All pictures featured here were taken by me. You are eager to see them right? Enjoy!

BRIDAL FEATURE: OPEYEMI

Hello beautiful people. I'm pretty sure everyone's up to one great stuff or the other. God bless us all.

Over the weekend, I had the privilege of working with beautiful Opeyemi in far away Abeokuta and though I had neither met nor spoken with her, I was determined to give my best shot all through.

The pictures below should do the rest of the talking. Check them out :)

I'M STILL HERE SWEETIES + BRIDAL FEATURE: MAMA TEE

Hello beautiful people :)
Allow me rant a bit before I serve you what's new.

Do you know beauty makeup has gone waaaaaaay beyond just concealing the under of your brows and applying your favorite lippie. There really is more to learn. Understanding colour theory, Highlighting(not just some shiny stuff on your nose oh), Contouring and so much more. I have been reading a lot on these topics and I hope to share the things I have learned with you soon.

Well, well!!!
The past weekend had me really busy helping out at my darling sister's wedding; especially sorting last minute IV's and of course makeup. Left to me, I'll write a book detailing the entire experience, starting with how my back nearly broke from doing loads of faces to how I earned the name " Madam Fighter"....all thanks to my dear friend, Zainab.

Regardless, it was a lovely weekend and I had loads of fun. Check out some of the faces I made :)

The beautiful bride has really hooded eyes. I had her look down to capture this shot :)

I created this look sometime in December as a trial. She absolutely loved it but wanted something not too conventional, hence we went for the soft smokey look instead.

I totally love weddings ( or maybe I just love love), lol. Here's wishing the couple a blissful and prosperous union.

WHO IS IN THE GARDEN

" Who is in the garden,
      A little fine girl,
Can I come and see her?
No, no.....Pay her Make up Artist first"

Hi people,
Trust you are all well and many thanks for visiting my page regularly.

Again, I have been busy with my numerous brushes and products and this particular makeover was quite challenging because the client involved is a professional makeup artist herself, *Wheewww*. She knew everyyythingggg! Anyway, I am glad I did not shy away from the challenge and I honestly pray for more of such opportunities in the near future. It just might be Pat Mcgrath next time.
I am happy with the way the look turned (although there's room for improvement), and she absolutely loved it too.

Enjoy the pictures and hope you love them as much as we do.

All done :)

Have a beautiful week.

BE ENCOURAGED :)

Hi beautiful people *waves* :)
Many thanks for checking my posts from time to time, and to those who have recently 'Liked' my facebook page.....Thank you! Mmmwuuaaah!

Oooookay! Consider these three pictures! Same model, three pictures.

Good Lord! I remember I did this makeup in 2008. Yes! I take responsibility for   creating this very horrendous look. Funny thing is I felt as good as Pat Mcgrath after doing it. Everyone hailed me and I remember the model earned the name "Suzzie" afterwards. Lol. Now, all i can say is......Horrendous much!

This was done while I was training at the London School of Makeup and Beauty in 2011.   I was still not satisfied with my abilities and I yearned to know more each day.

Finally, I did this in August 2012, and even though I knew I could do better, I was impressed with the improvements I had made so far.

So, what's my point exactly? We all pray to attain great heights, but we also have to start from somewhere.  No matter the field you want to explore, you can become a guru at it as long as you believe God and are determined.

I am looking to create more looks on this beautiful model and I am excited in advance about how they'll turn. Of course I'll keep you posted.

Have a beautiful day.

Your Beauty Bestie,
Eniola

BRIDAL MAKEOVER: OYINDAMOLA

Hi guys :)

Trust you are all well. I ammmmm! Its great to be alive at this time and I pray for more of God's blessings now and for ever.

Hmmmnnn, beautiful Oyindamola...where do I start this tale?

Okay! Three days to Oyin's wedding, she sent me a series of BBM's and here's the summary of what she said "Babes, I had a dream you came late to do my wedding makeup, better don't let this dream come to pass, otherwise, I will curse you". My colleagues can testify the last thing you want to do to a bride is come late for her wedding (You'll definitely see the bridezilla in her).
Fast forward to Saturday the 19th! Of course I did not want her dream to come to pass, I got to her house at 5. 50 am since she had earlier told me the engagement was to begin at 7.00 and the story continues.....................
I know you are tired of my ranting. Here are a few pictures below.

Don't you just love her gorgeous smile :)

I had a lovely time at the wedding and of course, it was great to see Pearl and Olamide from high school again. Here's wishing Mr and Mrs Akinwole a blissful and fruitful union.

SHADES IN MY MAC PALETTE

Hey guys,

Allow me begin by thanking you for your trust, support and loyalty in the past year and wishing you a happy and prosperous new year. May it be one filled with God's goodness, favor and blessings all the way.

Back to being and staying beautiful :)

Before I begin, Can I stress the fact that the MAC Cosmetics Company has never produced neither a '120 Eye shadow Palette' or a '24 pcs Brush Set'. I have come across quite a number of fake MAC products ranging from eye shadows to lip products, so if you have one of those, hmmmmnnnn......
Always purchase your MAC products from trusted distributors and if you are ever still in doubt, visit their official website or buy in store.
Speaking of their eye shadows, they come in either pots or in refill pans. So if you want to purchase the refill pans, you have to buy the empty palettes separately (either the palette of 4 or 15).

Here's my palette of 15 with the shadows.

My customized palette is filled majorly with 'Base' and 'Contour' Colors as I personally prefer to highlight with lighter shades of foundation and concealer as opposed to eye shadows. I must confess the colors I selected are absolutely pretty and highly pigmented too, just in case you are looking to purchase a few lovely shades.

Here are the 15 individual colours in no particular order.

Contrast

Cranberry

Electra

Red Brick

Hepcat

Woodwinked
Goldmine
Amberlights (Amaaaaazing)

Expensive Pink

Star Violet

Coppering
Embark
Antiqued

Shadowy Lady

Sketch
A major reason I love MAC eye shadows is the fact that although highly pigmented, they hardly leave fall-outs, so I can afford to apply my bases (Foundation, Concealer and Powder) before doing my eye shadow work. With their matte shades such as Embark, Red Brick and Shadowy Lady above, I apply a white eye shadow base to make them stand out and they pop really well.

I know what you're thinking, and you are right. They are quite expensive. The empty palette of 15 is £12 and each refill pan (eye shadow) is £10, so in total, the package costs £162. Quite expensive, but totally worth it (If you ask me).

I'll post a few looks I have created with these shades pretty soon.

Eniola
